A spokesman for Nintendo’s UK division confirmed today that the price of first party Wii software will fall “broadly in line” with the cost of current-gen games. This in itself is not really new news. Iwata stated, “I cannot imagine any first party title could be priced for more than $50,” back in March 2006.
Today, EA also hinted that their Wii software will also be under $50. This suggests that Wii software will remain at the mark set during this generation across the board. Although Nintendo has no control over how 3rd Party publishers price their games, other publishers will likely follow Nintendo and EA’s lead. [/b]
