US third-party DS titles revealed
Nintendo names 45 more games that will be available for its dual-screen portable in North America, and says at least 22 more are in development.
Nintendo announced today the final roster of North American third-party games for its upcoming portable, the DS. A total of 45 games have been confirmed (and re-confirmed) by American publishers such as Electronic Arts, THQ, and Majesco, as well as international companies like Capcom, Konami, Square Enix, and Ubisoft. The list did not include Nintendo's first-party games.
The list includes such marquee titles as Castlevania, Madden NFL, Need for Speed Underground, Viewtiful Joe, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, Mega Man, and Dynasty Warriors. In addition to the 45 identified titles, Nintendo also revealed that at least 22 other DS titles are in the works from various companies, for a total of 67. By comparison, 64 third-party games are confirmed for the Japanese market, as revealed in a separate Nintendo announcement last week. That list includes many titles not yet slated for a US release.
