As Lost is television's Ulysses, Spec Ops: The Line is gaming's The Odyssey. No greater refutation of the false premise that games shouldn't be played for their story exists. Unfortunately, it's easy to write these words, but harder to understand them; gamers won't "get" it until they're confronted with the haunting dilemmas the game presents, each smashing the comfortable moral framework that the privileged are able to live in because of the sacrifices made by soldiers like those depicted in The Line.
