Starforce har en utfordring til deg!

Som vi alle vet er det et "ubestridt faktum" at kopibeskyttelsen Starforce, ødelegger harddisker, voldtar CD brennere og generelt hindrer folk fra å spille spill de har betalt gode penger for på lovlig vis. For å bedre dette misserable ryktet sitt har derfor folk hos SF ytret en liten utfordring til alle de som har lidd under deres støvlehel. Hvis du kan bevise for dem at SF har permanent skadet maskina di skal du få 1000 dollars.

There have been a lot of rumors in the Internet concerning DVD/CD writers malfunction after installation and star-up of StarForce protected applications. Some have even mentioned that should such “malfunctioning” drive be placed in any other PC without StarForce protection installed it will fail to work as well.
In the past year our staff and many of our clients tried restlessly to reproduce the matter based on these rumors. Using our hardware collection we assembled systems alike, but such problems never took place.
Therefore, we have no proven facts of such issues and we have found out that all of these rumors are false.
We have serious reasons to believe that such problems are pure fiction.
However, if such problem does exist, it should be repeatable. Therefore, just to make sure, StarForce decided to have a worldwide contest among users of StarForce protected applications.
Anyone who can reproduce and demonstrate the mentioned above problem with CD/DVD drive in our office will receive $1000.00 US.
You should arrive in our office with your PC or use any of our PCs and reproduce the problem.

Here are the terms of the contest:
All the drives in the system should be properly functioning prior to the installation of a StarForce protected product.
After the installation and start-up of StarForce protected product the problem with (CD/DVD read-write malfunction) must exist and be reproduced in any other configuration.
If you can be the first to reproduce this situation in our office, we will be happy to award you with $1000.00 US, cover your trip to Moscow and pay 2 days’ lodging.
Please submit your applications before January 31 2006.[/b]

# At your own expense you arrive to StarForce headquarter which is placed in Russia, Moscow, Altufievskoe shosse, 5/2. Please arrange your visit with us beforehand and during working hours 10 AM to 6PM Monday through Friday Moscow time.
# Using your PC (the subject PC’s hardware must be under warranty terms) or any StarForce office PC you demonstrate that:
- All the drives in the system are properly functioning prior to the installation of a StarForce protected product of your choice. A legal version of operational system must be installed and there must be no other third company products installed. StarForce experts have full access to the subject PC for verification of installed software.
- After the installation and start-up of StarForce protected product the CD or DVD drive in the subject PC is not reading CD/DVD discs or the drive is not writing CD/DVD discs.
- After this demonstration the subject Drive must be removed from the subject PC and installed into any other computer that has no StarForce protected products or drivers installed, that has a legal version of operational system and has no third company products installed. StarForce experts have full access to the subject PC for verification of installed software.
Should the subject Drive fail to read or write CD/DVD discs in the second PC, you will be acknowledged the Winner.
# If you are acknowledged as the Winner StarForce shall compensate your travel expenses (air fare round trip to Moscow economy class, pay your two days lodging (three star hotel of your choice) in Moscow and pay 1000 USD as prize.
Your full name will be mentioned on www.star-force.com as the Winner of the Contest.
# If you fail to reproduce the mentioned above terms, you will be acknowledged the loser and StarForce will mention your full name on www.star-force.com in the list of Losers of the Contest and any expenses shall not be compensated.

Man må altså drasse med seg PCen sin til kontorene deres i Russlandia og drepe CD\DVD spilleren sin med Starforce. Hvis du greier det betaler de deg 1000 dollars og flyturen + oppholdet. Hvis du ikke klarer det blir det derimot huet og ræva på dør og du må betale alt selv og leve i skam resten av livet.
Enten det eller de henter noen av kontaktene sine i mafiaen som hjelper deg på vei hjem i en koffert.
Veit ikke åssen det er med dere, men jeg trur jeg dropper å ta imot akkurat denne utfordringa.

Det virker jo fristende med 1000 $ og et opphold i eksotiske Russland, men det er liksom ikke verdt alt maset, og det nettopp derfor det er et bra triks. Ikke at SF kommer til å bli kvitt det dårlige ryktet sitt med det første, men...

Uansett, hvis jeg skulle deltatt på dette prosjektet hadde jeg tatt med en egen stipulasjon. Uavhengig om jeg vant utfordringen eller ikke betyr deltagelsen at jeg permanent flytter inn i lokalene deres. Jeg skal bo der, ikke kle meg i annet enn en skitten boxer og bruke firmakontoen til å bestille pizza, pils og billig vodka og med jevne mellomrom skal jeg spenne bein for folk som går forbi pulten min. Fra tid til annen skal jeg skrike ut "I am LodForce!" og rape hardt.
Som sikkerhetsnett skal jeg plante rundt 5 kilo med TNT som jeg setter av hvis noen prøver å fjerne meg fra bygningen.

Cd Brenneren min har ikke fungert på lenge og jeg har også hørt om Starforce mange ganger og plutselig nå ble 2 + 2 = 4, kunne noen være så snill å vise meg hvordan jeg fjerner Starforce?

Det var det da. Det finnes to måter å fjerne SF på. Den ene ligger et eller annet sted på hjemmesida deres og lar deg "fjerne faenskapet" (den fjerner mesteparten av Starforcen, men legger igen littigrann, bare for å passe på at du er snill og ikke stjeler spill). har desverre ikke link til den, men den funker vistnok "veldig bra" (rota gjennom sida deres, men ikke faen om jeg finner den). :rulleøyne:
Den andre versjonen kan jeg desverre ikke gi link til siden den tilhører visse programmer som brukes til piratkopiering. Den derimot fjerner alle spor av møkka og lar deg fritt styre over din egen maskin.

Joda, godbumpen dette, men det er viktige saker. Ubisoft har nå meldt at de ikke kommer til å bruke Starforce på nærliggende Heroes of Might and Magic V eller noen andre spill. Er dette første skritt i kampen for SFs utslettelse? Vi kan kun håpe, men det ser slik ut.

Oh joy and happiness!! Heroes er blant mine favorittserier og dermed er Heroes 5 definitivt en kjøpskandidat igjen om Ubisoft klarer brasene.

Den konken er over for lengst da. Ikke uventet meldte nøyaktig null personer seg på og SF tok det som et klart tegn på at programvaren deres er feilfri.
