Tekken 5 for Cube, Xbox and PS2
Jack 2's back but Namco's arcade beat-'em-up is set to wage war on every console
Wayne Rooney, the nation of Italy, The Simpsons and now Tekken. Yes, it is amazing how some people can switch sides at the drop of a hugely expensive hat.
But, after years of tying their Tekken flag to just the Sony mast, Namco have decided to move the mauler into the realm of the multi-format: yes, Gamecube and Xbox owners will be able to join PS2ers in laughing at King's leopard costume.
Already on its way to arcades around the world, Tekken 5 has seen the series move back to the classic formula of fast-paced fights and a more cartoon style of combat. It also promises a huge amount of customisation of each character via a special credit card, although no one will reveal at the moment how much of this feature will be converted to the consoles.
Tekken 5 will unclench the Iron First on PS2, Xbox and Gamecube in 2005
