The XBOX One Product documentation presents a Caution, which I can personally confirm, on the interference with Personal Medical Devices such as Pacemakers. New Electrical Implants are very often wireless and recharge through a wireless connection. So what the XBOX is doing is seeing my implanted medical device as a possible WiFi source or device and because of this it is interfering with the operation of my device. The older WiFi technology does not interfere with my device.
My problem is that my 2 teenage boys just received their XBOX Ones, along with other family and friend's households, but the interference with my Implanted Medical Device makes it impossible for them to use the XBOX one in any way while I am in the house ANYWHERE. I need to be able to disable the internal WiFi or whatever is the source of the interference and go with an external WiFi device or hardwire to internet. I do not mean DISCONNECT, which does NOT DISABLE the radio frequency. I need to be able to disable the radio frequency so they can use the system.
I have called Microsoft and gone through Hdwe support and they have no options. They state that to open the console would break warranty and cannot confirm if I removed the internal WiFi device (which I think for XBOX One there are 2) that it would even still function. They have recommended the Forum as my Senior Technical Support resource. I need an Engineer or Hdwe specialist to help me. It breaks my heart my sons cannot use their new system because of my medical issues and interference with the device for which I cannot find a solution to disable. Please please please, someone help me. I know this is just a game system but this impacts not only my quality of life medically but my family's quality of life as technology is now interfering with their ability to live their life to the fullest as long as they have to live with a mother with medical issues.
Again, my medical device is implanted under the skin and turning it off is not an option. I cannot change the frequency of my device. I am not sure if surgery to replace is even an option and if it was I doubt that having it replaced so my kids can play their xbox is a justified reason for me to have a life threatening surgery to replace a medical device. I know insurance is not going to approve it.
Please someone help me.
Sincerely,
Heartbroken Mom
