Ah, det første spillet jeg spilte på LAN. Satan, det eide! Elsket å klatre rundt på veggene og skremme livsskiten ut av de andre.
 
Spilt meg gjennom 5 missions, og inntrykket så langt er at det vakler mellom en 3 og 4 på terningen av 6. For å ta det positive først, så synes jeg skytinga er helt kurant. Ikke akkurat de mest grasiøse xenoene jeg har møtt, men det er noe tilfredstillende med den lyden av kuler som treffer en xeno.. Nok av våpen å velge mellom, i tillegg til at du har 2-3 valg for å customize gønneren du bruker. Favorittene så langt er en av haglene som skyter ut en elektrisk ladning som stønner drit også kan du bare lolgibbe. Og en flammekaster til en assaultrifle. Teksturene er vel noe som gir folk som har litt høyere krav til det enn meg aids, men jeg synes det ser hel kurant ut. Liker at det drar mer i retning mot AvP2 med litt mer farger, enn typiske Unreal-looken AvP3 hadde.

Negative: Det er vanvittig mye dødtid i spillet her og ikke av typen AvP2, der du går rundt med nerver for hva som venter rundt neste sving. Du har en AI som konstant gnåler om charlie alpha delta bravo-prat, mye saktegåing for å se noen eksplosjoner. I tillegg fungerer det som en spoiler for at det er noen fiender bak deg, så du kan bare glemme å bli skremt av xenoene mesteparten av tiden. Jeg er ikke fan av XP-points i skytere. . Å få en MASTER LEVEL SHOOTANZ SERGAENT DUNGEON WIZZARD lvl.42 pop-up er ikke det jeg vil se it et Alien-spill.

Definitivt en skuffelse.

Hicks er tilbake og dukker uten videre opp et stykke uti kampanjen. Den eneste forklaringa er at noen bytta ut kroppen hans fra stasispodden med et lik for å lure Ripley, men at det får bli en historie til en annen gang.
Påminnesle om at Randy skrøyt på seg at denne elendige fanfictionen er den egentlige oppfølgeren til Aliens. Der tok han derimot feil. A:CM er oppfølger til en helt annen film.

My absolute favorite part of the game was the moment they brought a character back from the film, and another marine pointed out the giant plot hole this created. “That’s a long story,” the returning character said, and I’m pretty sure he waved his hand as he said it. He didn’t have time to explain the impossible situation. When you have to write in a character literally hand-waving away something that made no sense, your story is a mess.

Playnews – an independent news agency that focuses on the games industry – has informed us about an interesting statement from SEGA’s senior producer, Matthew J. Powers. According to the news, Aliens: Colonial Marines primary development has not been outsourced to TimeGate and Gearbox Software was not responsible just for the game’s multiplayer, Sega of America’s Senior Producer Matthew J. Powers confirmed to Playnews on Tuesday.

As Powers told Playnews during the Italian Aliens: Colonial Marines’ launch event:

“Absolutely not, the game has been developed by Gearbox Software. Other studios [like Timegate] helped Gearbox on the production of single and multiplayer.”

Powers debunked the rumor spread by a forum post made by an alleged former Gearbox member on Texags back in May, stating that the game’s primary development was apparently outsourced to Section 8′s team TimeGate Studios.

So there you have it everyone, straight from the horse’s mouth. The SP mode was made by Gearbox and the other studios helped the team behind the Borderlands series to complete it. Of course we don’t know how much those studios contributed to it, but fact is that Gearbox is responsible for the SP mode too (and not for only the MP mode).

Hvorfor er Giant Bomb bestandig så jævla treig med å legge ut anmeldelser? En kvikktitt av dette hadde forøvrig vært gloriøst.

Vel akkurat nå har det sikkert noe med at de driver å lanserer sida på nytt. De streama det live tidligere i dag og etter at de traff første alienen ga de opp alt håp. Blir sikkert lagt ut som kvikktitt. Forøvrig er jeg pissed siden det og ser ut til at ukas paddekast blir forsinka så jeg ikke har no å høre på mens jeg loffer til jobben.

First off, due to me breaking NDA, I can't provide any proof that I'm not just talking out of my ass. But I figure you'd be interested in hearing what I have to say regardless. I've been on the project for around a year and a half, so some of the following are things I've heard from more senior guys.
Pecan (the internal codename for ACM) has a pretty long history. SEGA, GBX and 20th Century FOX came to an agreement to produce an Aliens game around 6 years ago, after which SEGA almost immediately announced it, long before Pecan had even started production. The game has been in active development in the past, only to be shelved in favor of another project (Borderlands, Duke, etc), and each time it was resumed it would undergo a major content overhaul.
SEGA, naturally, wasn't super pleased about the delays, but GBX got away with it for a long time and the contract between SEGA and GBX kept getting augmented to push the projected release further and further back. The last time it was resumed, GBX outsourced a good portion of the game to outside companies. Initially, the plan was for TimeGate to take the majority of campaign, GBX would take MP, Demiurge and Nerve would handle DLC and various other focused tasks. This decision was made mostly so that most of the developers at GBX could continue working on Borderlands 2, while a small group of LDs, coders and designers dealt with Pecan.
Somehow the schedules for Pecan and Borderlands 2 managed to line up and GBX realized that there was no fucking way they could cert and ship two titles at the same time. Additionally, campaign (which was being developed by TimeGate) was extremely far behind, even as Pecan's Beta deadline got closer and closer. In April or May (can't remember which), Pecan was supposed to hit beta, but GBX instead came to an agreement with SEGA that they would push the release date back one more time, buying GBX around 9 mos extension.
About 5 of those 9 months went to shipping BL2. In that time, TimeGate managed to scrap together 85% of the campaign, but once Borderlands 2 shipped and GBX turned its attention to Pecan, it became pretty apparent that what had been made was in a pretty horrid state. Campaign didn't make much sense, the boss fights weren't implemented, PS3 was way over memory, etcetcetc. GBX was pretty unhappy with TG's work, and some of Campaign maps were just completely redesigned from scratch. There were some last minute feature requests, most notably female marines, and the general consensus among GBX devs was that there was no way this game was going to be good by ship. There just wasn't enough time.
Considering that SEGA was pretty close to taking legal action against GBX, asking for an extension wasn't an option, and so Pecan crash-landed through certification and shipping. Features that were planned were oversimplified, or shoved in (a good example of this are challenges, which are in an incredibly illogical order). Issues that didn't cause 100% blockers were generally ignored, with the exception of absolutely horrible problems. This isn't because GBX didn't care, mind you. At a certain point, they couldn't risk changing ANYTHING that might cause them to fail certification or break some other system. And so, the product you see is what you get.
Beyond gameplay, the story has been raised as an issue several times. I can't really comment without feeling bad beyond saying that the script was approved by 20th Century FOX, and that the rush to throw a playable product together came at the cost of the story. Campaign does a pretty bad job of explaining a lot of the questions raised at the start of the game, and so hopefully there will be DLC to flesh that out a bit better.

Sterling gjør no lignende og går gjennom slutten av demoen de viste fram på messer og sånn og påpeker alt som er piss.
Toppen på kransekaka må vel bli når det slippes i mars til WiiU. Om det faktisk er så ille som folk hevder og ser og som et skikkelig ræva spill til PS2 mens de har sluppet en trailer som viser det som mer eller mindre identisk med de andre utgavene vil jeg tro folk kan saksøke dem.

De moddene legger til DX10 shizz og demper belysninga så det ser mer ut som demoen. Det var ikke verre enn å edite no filer for å skru det på så her er det tydlig at GBX ikke ville at spillet skulle se bedre ut enn konsollutgaven fordi :ras:
